How to Choose a First-Class - Yet Affordable - Colorado Wedding Caterer

Choosing a wedding caterer may be one of the most important tasks attached
to your wedding plans, after setting the date. After all, it's not only about
choosing a good caterer. Most wedding caterers have lots of other
connections in the wedding industry, and can often save you a great deal of
time, money and effort. By referring you to other services or simply adding
other services you need to their list, your wedding caterer is worth his or her
weight in gold!

HOW TO CHOOSE A WEDDING CATERER

If you want to avoid choosing the 'wedding caterer from hell', here are five tips
to make your decisions easier:

1. The first thing you want to do is ask around in your own circle for
references to a good wedding caterer. And by the way, 'wedding' is the
operative word here - lots of Colorado caterers may not necessarily have
experience with weddings, and that particular experience is important.

But among your own friends and family, someone will be able to put in a good
word for a wedding caterer that they've either had a positive experience with
themselves, or heard good things about.

2. If that doesn't work, check with well-known local venues (even if you're not
having your wedding in one of them). Local venues will work with local
Colorado wedding caterers, and their reputation depends on having quality
wedding caterers available to choose from.

If THAT doesn't work, check with any other rental agencies you'll be using for
any part of your wedding planning - again, any company that works within the
industry will have a list of reputable local wedding caterers to choose from.

3. Once you have a list of three or four wedding caterers to choose from, call,
email or visit the website for each of them. Apart from getting a 'feel' for the
company, you can also find out other specifics. Company history, particular
specialties (cultural, for example) and availability are just as important as
pricing at this point.

4. The next step is to interview the wedding caterers - again, this will confirm
a 'feeling' for the company, and also allow you to tell them about you and your
wishes, and get their feedback.

5. In order to do a process of elimination, the final step you can take is to do
a 'taste test' of some food samples from one or two of them. Ask for an
appointment, and let them know you'd like a couple of samples of the type of
food you would order for your wedding.

If you follow these steps, you WILL find a first-class -- yet affordable --
wedding caterer!
